Special Education Opportunities

  • Mountain View Society for Lifelong Learning (403-556-1919) - a network of resource people to promote learning opportunities to fulfill the needs of our community. Distributes course calendars in January and September to every mailbox in the county. Calendars include a wide variety of non-credit courses for adults ranging from agriculture, business, crafts, culture, home and family, personal development, sport/recreation, technical skills, etc.

  • Preventative Program (403-556-1003) - assists students toward better academic success and development of their personal and educational potential. Provides referrals to agencies, and/or counselling with students and their families dealing with problems of truancy, negative peer pressure, depression, anger management, etc.

  • Project Read Soon (403-556-3045) Tutors help adults improve their reading, writing, spelling, speaking, basic math, and life skills. Students work with their tutors for two hours per week. Also teach English as a second language.
